"There is nothing like walking through a vineyard on a warm, summer afternoon to take away your cares. You immediately
appreciate nature’s gifts – the earth, the sun and, of course, the vines." ~ Greg
Distinguished wines require distinctive grapes, and we have taken great care in locating exceptional single vineyard fruit
sources.

In 1999, we planted approximately 650 vines on a one acre vineyard site at 1,400 foot level near our home in the hills
above the town of Los Gatos. Conditions at the vineyard give us warm days and cool nights, and the hilly terrain naturally
limit yields that results in intensely flavorful fruit. The vineyard is planted 100% to Dijon Clone 76 on 110R Rootstock.

The 200 acre Madden Ranch Vineyard is located on the warmer eastern edge of the Livermore Valley. There are three
different Syrah blocks on the ranch, each with a different slope and aspect. Our favorite, and the source of the fruit
for our Madden Ranch Syrah, is a 20 acre block planted on the Concannon clone, all on 5BB rootstock.
Originally from the Shenandoah Valley in the Sierra Nevada Foothills, Concannon is one of the oldest Syrah clones in
California. All blocks are on VSP (vertical shoot positioning) trellis and are drip irrigated

In 2006 we released our first Bordeaux blend red wine (primarily Cabernet Sauvignon) made with grapes from the renowned
Trio B and Trio C Vineyards near Yountville, CA. The vineyards are owned and managed by the Nord Family a family with a
long and distinguished viticulture history in the Napa Valley.
Our wine was created with the five classic Bordeaux varietals Cabernet Sauvignon (clones 337 & 341), Merlot (clone 3),
Cabernet Franc (clone 332), Petit Verdot (clone 2), and Malbec (clone 4).
