| Harvest Wrap Up | |
| Last month's newsletter chronicled the beginning of harvest and this month we can report that all harvests are complete. It was a terrific growing season — warm weather without heat spikes or rain — up to the unexpectedly heavy rainstorms on October 13th. Fortunately, we'd already harvested over 80% of our fruit beforehand, and the remaining lots were ones that could handle rain and lingering dampness well and continue to ripen. The final harvest day was Friday, October 23rd. All of our wines are in fermentation now and will be put to rest in barrel over the next few weeks. We'll keep you posted on their progress! We all may need to rest a little bit too this winter now that the final challenging weeks of the 2009 harvest are behind us. |
